Pricing:

Cost can vary due to the finish you chose.  As you can see from the portfolio some finishes are more labor intensive than others.

i.e. A simple one color softened rag finish can range from $2.00 /sq. ft to $4.50/sq/ft.

Consideration in pricing/estimating a room are as follow:

-Are we glazing window sash/mullions, door frames baseboards moldings or trim

-How many doors and windows are in the room

-work site: are we working around finished floors, carpets, wallpaper that need major protection etc.

-How high are the walls (8 feet or 25 feet.) will we need scaffold.

-What condition are the walls.

-How much furniture is there to move.

-Are there window treatments that need to go back at the end of the job.

-Do you need additional coats of varnish.

-level of detail ( mostly with regards to Mural work)

-how many corners/ angles (returns)

Guidelines for Decorative Finishes, Faux Finishes and Murals:

As you know some finishes are more labor intensive than others.  There are many variations on one technique as well.  We usually leave a 5%-10% margin in the cost when we estimate a job until a sample is approves as sometimes a client can change their direction in the middle of the process.  If they pick a finish out from our portfolio we can give you an exact cost. In estimating a room it is important for us to see what we are working around (i.e. book cases, cabinetry, many corners, moldings and ceiling height….)  Also if we are including doors and door panels or not?  That is why it is hard to give a sq. foot price when walls are 15- 20 feet high,  as it changes the formula.   Eight foot high walls are easier to give a sq. /ft. price on.

Murals are subject to the amount of imagery, level of detail, subject matter (trees versus figures) photo realism versus a more impressionistic painterly approach (i.e. Monet’s water lilies versus a  Rembrandt).   Sketches and compositional drawing swill allow us to give the client an exact cost as well.

Gold leafing is subject to the type of surface and whether they want 14 K gold or metal leaf,  We also do a faux gold leaf using metallic powders that is less expensive then real gold.

We charge about $75.00 for samples.  If the client does not proceed with the  job they are only responsible for the sampling fee.  We can usually create a finish that the client will like without excessive sampling and additional costs.

Estimates :

Estimates are free.

We can come to your home to see the room and show you the portfolio.  We find it is best to see he space and how the lighting is and what kind of  feeling you want to create in the room.

If you need price immediately we could give  you some kind of idea of the costs  if you gave us the dimensions of the room or drawings.   We would need to leave a range in the costs as some finishes are more labor intensive than others, depending on the  technique.
