Surface Preparations:
Undercurrent can provide a painter or we can work with your house painter to assure that the room is prepared properly for the finishes to follow.
If you have a painter that you prefer then we will work with your painter to co-ordinate the timing of the job. We will need to let the painters know what we require to assure that you get the best job possible. A good preparation is really important to a lasting decorative paint finish.

For the painters:
Basecoats can be done using Aquaglo(latex) or Satin impervo (oil). All base coats to the walls should be applied as smooth as possible using a 3/8 inch nap roller to minimize roller texture (also known as orange peel), and two thin coats are better than one heavy coat.
Any cabinetry or moldings should be brushed out using thin coats and sanded lightly in-between. No fibers or dirt should be on the surface.
Some finishes will require that the walls be perfectly smooth i.e. some strie , venetian plaster stucco, wood graining) In this case a skim coat will need to be applied. This is the process of applying thin layers of wall board compound to level any irregularities and fill the orange peel texture from previous painting jobs.
